Not Your Average Prep School

A different way of preparing for University

Your child is off to University, but are they really prepared?

We are human beings, first and foremost, before a student or anything else.

Other prep courses focus on the academics and test prep of getting into your chosen University, but once you get there how do you not only survive, but thrive?

Get the “operating manual” of taking care of yourself in this course.

We will cover basic adulting skills of:

> The care and feeding of your magnificent body

> Study habits & productivity

> How to not get run-down at finals time

> Connecting with peers and profs

> Sleep and school/life balance

> and more, as requested

Meet your instructor

Libby Parker, MS, RD, CDN, CEDRD

I know how hard it is because I struggled with restrictive eating in college; which ultimately led me to get 2 degrees in nutrition (summa cum laude) so I could help others not have to feel the way I had.

Since 2014, I have been a part-time professor of nutrition at Allan Hancock College, spoken to many college groups about taking care of their body and mind in school, and worked with hundreds of college and high school students one-on-one who were struggling with the transition.

My debut book, Permission To Eat: a practical guide to working yourself out of an eating disorder during college, while celebrating the awesomeness that is you! has been a help to thousands battling disordered eating and body image issues, and hit the Amazon best-seller list.

College facts about me: I worked as a personal (and later, group) fitness training, was club president of 2 college dance clubs, studied abroad in Egypt and Italy, and became a “certified mixologist” in bartending school (for completely the wrong reasons).

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm already going to school, why do I need "another" class?

Great question! The last thing I want is to create more “busy work” for you, so there are no homework assignments, grades, busy work, or deadlines.

That being said, what is being taught is so important for LIFE. Not just the next 4-ish years, but your entire life!

Not Your Average Prep School is here to teach you the things you didn’t learn in school. Studies show that healthy habits lead to better grades, and more success in life.

Are you determined enough to follow through on your dreams?

What is included?

Live Q &A and pre-recorded modules on various life-skill topics that all College/University students should know, beyond academics.

Each cohort will have live calls over 3 months (August – October) to ask questions and get more help as you transition to living on your own. These purposly overlap with the first months of school so you can see where you really need help as you experience college for the first time.

Who is this course for?

Not Your Average Prep School is designed for those going into college/university, or anyone who wants to learn important adulting skills that are required to live a healthy, less anxious, life. There is no age cut-off, but it is suggested for ages 16 and up.

What is the cost?
